“I sat with him only feet away, locking eyes and starting at one another as I watched for an hour as the life leave his body. I wanted him to know he would not die alone.”

The lion captured in Larry Pannell’s photograph was a magnificent creature, whose strength and majesty inspired awe in all who beheld him. Despite his age and failing health, he radiated a regal presence that belied his physical condition. He was a symbol of the wild, a reminder of the beauty and power of nature, and a testament to the enduring spirit of life that persists even in the face of mortality. May his memory live on, and may we continue to be inspired by his grace and courage.
It is truly an honor to be there and share the experience of dying. Animals are wiser than we know such a beautiful and powerful photograph. Thank you so much for sharing.
I don’t want to waste away like that when it’s my time. I need to think ahead. Switzerland put you out of your misery. X X X ♥️
I forgot to add, that’s amazing that he lived as long as he did, considering the dangers that he faces. Yes, he is Apex predator but they’re still humans.
They are still humans? What is that suppose to mean?
I think she meant “there are still humans” coming from a point that humans would probably be it’s only predator through poaching and trophy hunting etc etc.
I’m sure instead of being such a creep you could have understood that with even 1/2 of a brain.
Thank you, Julie.
I am saddened to see the king’s demise, but death is part of the circle of life.
